I purchased this 2-speed cordless blower for my wife, as she has a potting area for her gardening that always needs sweeping. There is typically some potting soil that always falls on the concrete while she works, and the soil is usually damp. A broom just spreads the damp soil out into muddy streaks! This particular blower works great for her! She loves it! The two speeds allow her to maneuver soil, cuttings and debris off the concrete without the mud streaks! She also uses the lower speed setting to clear clippings and leaves from around her plants and flowers, without disturbing the delicate mulch and spag moss that she uses as a decorative groundcover. The best part for me is that this blower is very light and easy for her to manage; the best part for my neighbors is that it's very quiet! This is the the first leaf blower I've used with enough oomph to feel *almost* like a gas-powered model. I have tall curbs and the High-power setting will push the grass up onto the lawn. The Low-power setting is useful for gathering stuff together in a pile or power-sweeping enclosed areas without creating a dust storm. The battery lasts much longer on Low-power. I have 200-ft of curb and can do it all on one charge using Low to move the grass out of the street and High to push it up onto the grass. It would be great if it lasted longer on High but that's just the limited nature of Ni-cad and does not impact this review. If you need more runtime on one charge, the Li-ion battery should do it.

The unit has two fan speeds. With high speed operation, which is necessary for blowing leaves, battery life is just a few minutes, even on a brand new unit with a fresh charge.
This greatly limits its usefulness.
